Influence of iron powder core on the switched reluctance motor performance enhancement
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020Abstract Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) materials possess isotropic magnetic and thermal properties, very low eddy current loss and relatively low total core loss at medium and higher frequencies. This paper presents the application potential of iron powder SMC in switched reluctance machine (SRM) and its performance enhancement.

Iron loss evaluation of iron powder core suitable for inductor used in power converters
2014 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 - ECCE ASIA), 2014A study evaluating the iron loss of a developed iron powder core under DC bias conditions with sinusoidal and square magnetizing voltage waveforms was conducted. It was found that the iron loss of the powder core decreases when the DC bias magnetic flux density increases.

Magnetic Properties of Amorphous Fe–Si–B Powder Cores Mixed with Pure Iron Powder
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2012Amorphous Fe–Si–B alloy was prepared by melt-spinning, and then the ribbons were pulverized and ball-milled to make the amorphous powder of ∼25 µm in size. Subsequently those were mixed with pure iron powders with an average particle size of 3 µm, and 1.5 wt % water glass diluted by distilled water at the ratio of 1:2.

Plain and simple design details regarding the application of iron powder cores
Proceedings: Electrical Insulation Conference and Electrical Manufacturing and Coil Winding Conference (Cat. No.99CH37035), 2003Knowing the physical, electrical and temperature limitations of Micrometals Iron Powder core materials reduces the development time and overall cost. This paper focuses on low cost toroid and E-core designs, thermal aging and available design tools to reduce or eliminate the "cut and try" development cycle.

Improvement of saturation property of iron powder core by flux homogenizing structure
IEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2013AbstractA new core structure is proposed to improve the saturation property of an inductor made of iron powder core. In the conventional structure made of a single core material, converging flux lines cause local magnetic saturation at the inner side of the corners of the magnetic path.
