Analysis of iron in blood using radioisotopic‐excited x‐ray fluorescence

Medical Physics, 1974
A proportional gas counter and a radioisotope excitation source are used to demonstrate the simplicity and efficiency of the x‐ray fluorescence (XRF) method in quantitative analysis of blood iron.

Determination of iron in silicate rocks by substoichiometric radioisotope dilution analysis

Talanta, 1976
Iron is determined in rocks by an isotope dilution method involving dissolution with hydro fluoric acid, extraction of iron(III) chloride into isopropyl methyl ketone, stripping with dilute nitric acid, and substoichiometric separation of the Fe-EDTA complex on a cation-exchange column.

Analysis of Iron in Blood by Radioisotope X-Ray Fluorescence

Isotopenpraxis Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 1975
This paper is intended to demonstrate how it is possible to carry out simple and economical analyses of iron in blood using the radioisotopic excited X-ray fluorescence technique. This method requires only 0.1 ml of blood deposited on a disk of filter paper.

A simple radioisotopic micromethod for determination of unsaturated iron-binding capacity of serum

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1961
Abstract A radioisotopic method for determining serum unsaturated iron-binding capacity is presented. Accuracy and precision comparable to chemical methods are obtained using 0.2 ml of serum. Hemoglobin at concentrations as high as 1% does not interfere and the method can be used in large scale routine application.

Comparison of Stable Isotopes and Radioisotopes in the Measurement of Iron Absorption in Healthy Women

Clinical Science, 1994
1. Stable isotope methods are being used to investigate the absorption of dietary iron. In order to be certain that this new methodology is accurate, we have compared results obtained using stable isotopes and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with those determined using a radioisotope and whole body counting. 2.

Sentinel lymph node identification using superparamagnetic iron oxide particles versus radioisotope: The French Sentimag feasibility trial

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2016
Background and ObjectivesThe French Sentimag feasibility trial evaluated a new method for the localization of breast cancer sentinel lymph node (SLN) using Sienna+®, superparamagnetic iron oxide particles, and Sentimag® detection in comparison to the standard technique (isotopes ± blue dye).MethodsWe conducted a prospective multicentric paired ...
