Analysis of Iron in Blood by Radioisotope X-Ray Fluorescence

Isotopenpraxis Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 1975
This paper is intended to demonstrate how it is possible to carry out simple and economical analyses of iron in blood using the radioisotopic excited X-ray fluorescence technique. This method requires only 0.1 ml of blood deposited on a disk of filter paper.

Analysis of iron in blood using radioisotopic‐excited x‐ray fluorescence

Medical Physics, 1974
A proportional gas counter and a radioisotope excitation source are used to demonstrate the simplicity and efficiency of the x‐ray fluorescence (XRF) method in quantitative analysis of blood iron.

A simple radioisotopic micromethod for determination of unsaturated iron-binding capacity of serum

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1961
Abstract A radioisotopic method for determining serum unsaturated iron-binding capacity is presented. Accuracy and precision comparable to chemical methods are obtained using 0.2 ml of serum. Hemoglobin at concentrations as high as 1% does not interfere and the method can be used in large scale routine application.

Optimization of radioisotope gamma methods for monitoring the iron content of ores

Soviet Mining Science, 1987
The authors discuss methods for optimizing the sensitivity and accuracy of gamma spectroscopic and x-ray fluorescence analysis techniques for monitoring the iron content of coal under conditions of varying moisture and ash content. Corrections for scattered gamma radiation and x-ray fluorescence in the face of these variations are considered.

Radioisotopic Investigation of the Codeposition of Iron, Cobalt, and Nickel in Gold Electrodeposits on Electronic Equipment

Isotopenpraxis Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 1976
The effect of contamination of a cyanide, phosphate-buffered gold-plating bath with iron, cobalt, or nickel on the codeposition of these metals with gold, was investigated using 59Fe, 58Co and 63Ni. It was shown that cobalt and nickel were practically not codeposited in gold if present in the solution in amounts up to 1000 or 2000 mg/dm3 respectively ...

A radioisotope method for testing the content of pearlite in wear-resistant cast iron

Russian Journal of Nondestructive Testing, 2007
A radioisotope X-ray fluorescence method for determining the content of manganese in wear-resistant cast iron and subsequent determination of the content of pearlite using a correlation equation is presented. Its physical concept is based on the use of an experimental sensor with a movable selective chrome filter, which enables the characteristic X-ray

Study of iron oxidation in sulfur dioxide atmospheres by means of the35S radioisotope

Oxidation of Metals, 1977
Results of investigations of the mechanism of iron oxidation in atmosphere containing sulfur dioxide are presented. Experiments were carried out both by the platinum marker method and by means of the two -stage oxidation method using sulfur dioxide labeled with the35S radioisotope. SO2 partial pressures applied were 0.03 and 1 atm at 800°C.

Application of radioisotopes in column chromatography on substituted celluloses—VI The separation of antimony from manganese, iron and other metals

Talanta, 1967
The Chromatographic behaviour of nanogram amounts of antimony in ethyl ether medium was studied by radioisotope techniques on cellobiose, cellulose and seven substituted celluloses. It was found that antimony is strongly retained and can be separated from macro amounts of manganese, iron, gold, uranium, mercury, arsenic and several other metals ...

Preparation and Evaluation of a Radioisotope-Incorporated Iron Oxide Core/Au Shell Nanoplatform for Dual Modality Imaging

Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology, 2008
Magnetic gold-coated iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe@Au NPs) have recently emerged as a new type of iron oxide nanoparticle based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents, in which the gold shell provides a conveniently tunable surface for the presentation of multiple functional molecules.
