Optimization for Sand Casting of SG Iron

2021
The aim of present research work is to maximize the casting production of spheroidal graphite (SG) Iron. However, rejection rate of casted parts is high in sand-casting process. There are many causes of rejection, but hardness variation of casted parts is major concern.

Iron-Stained Sands and Clays

The Journal of Geology, 1926
It is pointed out that the distribution of color in a sediment is as important in determining the general color effect as is the total amount of coloring matter present. It is shown that quartz will become iron-stained only in the absence of more active adsorbants, that orthoclase acquires iron stain more readily than quartz, and that while Al(OH)3 is ...

Dredging FeasibiIity of Low Value Iron Sands

Offshore Technology Conference, 1973
ABSTRACT This study of mining low value iron ore sands in coastal Quebec indicated that economic viability was marginal considering present market values for iron. The depth and detail of the feasibility investigation, and the small margin of decision emphasizes the importance of the thoroughness of such ...

"Residual" iron-sand deposits of Southwest Japan

Economic Geology, 1975
Four petrographic provinces have been recognized in southwest Japan on the basis of chemical and mineralogical composition of granitic rocks. The provinces trend parallel to the island arc and are referred to, from south to north, as the Outer Zone, the Ryoke, Sanyo-Naegi, and Sanin-Shirakawa belts.Iron-titanium oxides in the granitic rocks of ...

Iron Sands from the Black Sea

Anatolian Studies, 1981
The use of iron-bearing sands such as those of the Black Sea has often been thought of as an early source of iron ore by archaeo-metallurgists. Indeed Japan was an avid user of such material as late as the 19th century, and its use was being considered by the Turkish authorities in 1975.The black sands of the south side of the Black Sea are very ...

Sand and Iron

2001
Abstract Terminating the “52-year conflict” in the Middle East was the theme of the July 2000 conference in Camp David sponsored by the Clinton administration, whose strategists had declared the dispute ripe for resolution. The outcome of this conference has now become part of the thickening Middle East chronicle of dismissed ...

Deferrization of Kaolinic Sand by Iron Oxidizing and Iron Reducing Bacteria

Advanced Materials Research, 2007
Iron oxidizing bacteria Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, iron reducing bacteria Acidiphilium spp. and their mixture were applied for leaching of iron impurities from quartz sand. The bacterial leaching was carried out in order to decrease the amount of colouring iron oxides and to improve the technological properties of the raw material.
