A characterization of Nested Groups in terms of conjugacy classes
A group is nested if the centers of the irreducible characters form a chain. In this paper, we will show that there is a set of subgroups associated with the conjugacy classes of group so that a group is nested if and only if these subgroups form a chain.

The Sum of a Finite Group of Weights of a Hopf Algebra
Motivated by the orthogonality relations for irreducible characters of a finite group, we evaluate the sum of a finite group of linear characters of a Hopf algebra, at all grouplike and skew-primitive elements.

A new characterization of L2(p2)
For a positive integer n and a prime p, let np{n}_{p} denote the p-part of n. Let G be a group, cd(G)\text{cd}(G) the set of all irreducible character degrees of GG, ρ(G)\rho (G) the set of all prime divisors of integers in cd(G)\text{cd}(G), V(G)=pep(G)|

Dual combinatorics of zonal polynomials [PDF]
In this paper we establish a new combinatorial formula for zonal polynomials in terms of power-sums. The proof relies on the sign-reversing involution principle.

Correspondences and Irreducible Products of Characters
Suppose the finite group \(S\) acts on the finite group \(G\) with \((| G|, | S|) = 1\). Let \(\text{Irr}_ S (G)\) be the set of the irreducible characters of \(G\) fixed by \(S\); let \(\chi \in \text{Irr}_ S (G)\) and denote by \(\chi^* \in \text{Irr} (C_ G(S))\) the image of \(\chi\) under the Glauberman-Isaacs correspondence.

Irreducible Characters and Semisimple Coadjoint Orbits
When $G_{\mathbb{R}}$ is a real, linear algebraic group, the orbit method predicts that nearly all of the unitary dual of $G_{\mathbb{R}}$ consists of representations naturally associated to orbital parameters $(\mathcal{O},Γ)$. If $G_{\mathbb{R}}$ is a real, reductive group and $\mathcal{O}$ is a semisimple coadjoint orbit, the corresponding unitary ...

ON GENERALIZATION OF SPECIAL FUNCTIONS RELATED TO WEYL GROUPS
Weyl group orbit functions are defined in the context of Weyl groups of simple Lie algebras. They are multivariable complex functions possessing remarkable properties such as (anti)invariance with respect to the corresponding Weyl group, continuous and ...

Above Room Temperature Ferroelectricity in Epitaxially Strained KTaO3
Through precise epitaxial engineering, the cubic and paraelectric KTaO3${\rm KTaO}_3$ is transformed into a robust ferroelectric. By leveraging lattice‐mismatched substrates to apply controlled epitaxial strain, a stable ferroelectric ground‐state is achieved with a transition temperature as high as 475 K, establishing KTaO3${\rm KTaO}_3$ as a highly ...

Note on Heisenberg Characters of Heisenberg Groups
An irreducible character χ of a group G is called a Heisenberg character, if Kerχ ⊇ [G,[G,G]]. In this paper, the Heisenberg characters of the quaternion Heisenberg, generalized Heisenberg, polarised Heisenberg and three other types of infinite ...

Finite groups with non-trivial intersections of kernels of all but one irreducible characters [PDF]
In this paper we consider finite groups $G$ satisfying the following condition: $G$ has two columns in its character table which differ by exactly one entry.
