Stellar Populations and the Star Formation Histories of LSB Galaxies—Part I: Optical and Hα Imaging
This paper presents optical and Hα imaging for a large sample of LSB galaxies selected from the PSS-II catalogs (Schombert et al., 1992).

Delayed Massive-star Mechanical Feedback at Low Metallicity
The classical model of massive-star mechanical feedback is based on effects at solar metallicity ( Z _⊙ ), yet feedback parameters are very different at low metallicity.

FaceIt: Real‐Time On‐Device Identity‐Preserving Portrait Animation
A real‐time, on‐device algorithm for animating a single portrait image using detailed facial expressions and motions from a driving video achieving visual quality that can outperform even techniques with significantly higher computational overhead. Abstract Recently, significant progress has been made in generating expressive and temporally coherent ...

THE MAGNETIC FIELD OF THE IRREGULAR GALAXY NGC 4214 [PDF]
We examine the magnetic field in NGC 4214, a nearby irregular galaxy, using multi-wavelength radio continuum polarization data from the Very Large Array. We find that the global radio continuum spectrum shows signs that free-free absorption and/or synchrotron losses may be important.

The cusp–core problem remains a challenge to the ΛCDM model, since dwarf galaxies often exhibit flat central density cores rather than the steep cusps ( ρ ∝ r ^−1 ) predicted by collisionless N -body simulations.

Abstract Phages remain severely under‐sampled, largely due to the limitations of current isolation methods, which are labor‐intensive, low‐throughput, and often restricted to a narrow set of bacterial hosts. To address this gap, we developed a robust and scalable field‐to‐genome workflow that leverages laboratory automation to screen environmental ...

Through adaptive optics (AO) imaging with the SOUL+LUCI instrument at the Large Binocular Telescope we were able to resolve, for the first time, individual stars in the gas-rich galaxy DDO68 C. This system was already suggested to be interacting with the

Unveiling the Functional Role of KIF21B in Microglia Inflammatory Response
Microglia express KIF21B in both sexes. KIF21B binds to microglia cytoskeleton; inflammation alters such interaction promoting a phagocytic state in females. In male microglia KIF21B modulates migration. ABSTRACT Microglia are brain immune cells that maintain homeostasis and respond to injury, changing cell morphology to drive inflammation, migration ...

Magnetic Fields in Irregular Galaxies [PDF]
AbstractRadio data of large irregular galaxies reveal some extended synchrotron emission with a substantial degree of polarization. In the case of NGC 4449 strong galaxy-scale regular magnetic fields were found, in spite of the lack of ordered rotation required for the conventional dynamo action.

Context. The impact of extremely low-density environments such as the diffuse intergalactic medium (IGM) on the neutral gas distribution of dwarf galaxies remains poorly explored observationally. Aims.
