Recently, researchers have an interest on the electric vehicle because it is more eco-friendly and efficient than gas vehicle. Instead of a gas engine, the electric vehicle has a motor for propulsion. The permanent magnet synchronous motor which has permanent magnet instead of field winding in the rotor has especially higher efficiency and torque per ...

Irreversible demagnetization which occurs in permanent magnet (PM) due to high temperature is main issue in design of traction motor for hybrid electric vehicle. In order to prevent irreversible demagnetization, eddy current loss in PM should be minimized. This paper deals with the optimum design to reduce eddy current loss in PM.

Effect of magnetization direction on irreversible magnet demagnetization in brushless dc motor
Journal of Applied Physics, 2008The magnetization direction of a permanent magnet is an important variable in the design process of a brushless dc motor. This paper describes the effect of the magnetization direction on the various characteristics. Especially, we concentrate on the irreversible demagnetization characteristic of a permanent magnet. Two kinds of magnetization direction

For the magnetic card security, we propose the irreversible magnetization change by a light irradiation without changing outward appearances of the card. A significant magnetization change was found by a light irradiation of 100 mW/cm 2 , 3 s for a powder sample of Mn–Bi preheated by 300°C and 3 hrs.

High efficient permanent magnet actuator design by mitigating irreversible demagnetization effect
2015 IEEE Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2015This paper proposed a new design method for high efficient permanent magnet actuator with considering the irreversible demagnetization of magnet. The nonlinear B-H characteristic of magnet, which is determined by the driving temperature and the reactive magnetic field strength, is applied to predict the magnetic performance of the actuator in a ...

We have clarified the origin of the irreversibility involved in adiabatic demagnetization in the rotating frame (ADRF). The irreversibility is very high (≃50%) in single and double quantum ADRF for 27 Al nuclei in Al 2 O 3 , whereas it is very low (≃15%) in single quantum ADRF for 19 F in CaF 2 , 7 Li and 19 F in LiF.

Irreversible magnet demagnetization analysis of IPM type BLDC motor by stator turn fault
2012 7th International Forum on Strategic Technology (IFOST), 2012A stator turn fault in a symmetrical three-phase machine cause a large circulating current to flow and subsequently generated excessive heat in shorted turns, generate irregular control current of the three phase leads to demagnetization. In this paper, the effect of the circulating current in shorted turns on the demagnetization of PM and motor ...

A design process for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor for reduction of eddy current loss in permanent magnet (PM) is presented. In order to minimize the temperature inside of the PM, the eddy current loss in PM is reduced by finite element analysis (FEA) and optimizing the core shape.
