Irrigation is the process of applying water to soil, primarily to meet the water needs of growing plants. Water from rivers, reservoirs, lakes, or aquifers is pumped or flows by gravity through pipes, canals, ditches, or even natural streams. Applying water to fields enhances the magnitude, quality, and reliability of crop production — approximately 30%

New Method of Postprostatectomy Bladder Irrigation
European Urology, 1989Bacterial filters have been used to sterilise the hospital water supply in order to provide irrigant for postprostatectomy irrigation. This method was compared retrospectively to bladder irrigation derived from a still on the ward. Postoperative bacteriuria was similar in both groups of 75 patients, occurring in 23.7% of patients irrigated from the ...

Comparison of Peditrol® Irrigation Device and Common Methods of Irrigation
Journal of Endourology, 2005The Peditrol is a novel hands-free irrigation device that delivers a bolus of irrigant through the ureteroscope when the foot pedal is deployed. The purpose of this study was to compare the flow and pressures created by the Peditrol with those of commonly used methods of irrigation.Flows through a flexible 6.9F Olympus ureteroscope (F-URS) and a 7.5F ...

Method for Evaluating Irrigation Projects
Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1977A method is presented for evaluating irrigation projects by comparing the performance of alternative system designs over a planning period specified by the user. The estimating model is based on a universal crop production function for water which is utilized to optimize interzonal water distribution.
