Evapotranspiration Differences, Driving Factors, and Numerical Simulation of Typical Irrigated Wheat Fields in Northwest China

open access: yesAgronomy
Wheat is a staple crop widely sown in Northwest China, and understanding and modelling evapotranspiration (ET) during the wheat-growing stage is important for irrigation scheduling and the efficient use of agricultural water resources.

Parallel Electrical Integration of Photo Bio Electrochemical Systems (photo‐BESs): Performance Gains and Load Dependency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.

Responses of Yield, Efficiency, and Phenotypes of Spring Wheat in Arid Regions to Water Regulation

open access: yesAgriculture
To clarify the optimal water regulation strategy for spring wheat in arid areas, this study set up three irrigation methods [film-mulched drip irrigation (FD), non-mulched drip irrigation (ND), non-mulched subsurface drip irrigation (MD)] and five water ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

From Rigid to Soft Robotic Approaches for Neuroendoscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Robotic assistance has had minimal impact on deep intraventricular surgeries, where small‐scale, precision, and reduced invasiveness can contribute to improved patient outcomes. Emerging technologies in rigid, soft, and hybrid robotics are reviewed to identify the most promising mechanisms for deep brain navigation in addition to an attempt to identify

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.

SURFACE ALTERNATIVE IRRIGATION AS AN EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUE FOR SAVING IRRIGATION WATER [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Soil Sciences and Agricultural Engineering, 2013
Two field experiments were carried out during summer seasons, of 2010 and 2011, at Sakha Agricultural Research Station, Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt. Maize (hybrid single cross 10) was evaluated in a split plot design with four replicates.
