CRISPLD2 Attenuates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by Suppressing Oxidative Stress‐Induced Ferroptosis through the miR‐548I‐IL17A Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies CRISPLD2 as a key protector against IVDD. By regulating ferroptosis through the CRISPLD2–miR‐548I–IL17A axis, CRISPLD2 maintains NPCs homeostasis and reduces oxidative stress. Restoring CRISPLD2 expression effectively alleviates disc degeneration and highlights a promising therapeutic strategy for discogenic low back pain ...

Validation of farmers’ on-farm irrigation scheduling for optimal water utilization in Tigray Region, Ethiopia

open access: yesDiscover Agriculture
Unwise use of irrigation water in water-scarce areas exacerbates water scarcity, diminishes crop yield, and leads to resource wastage. In the Tigray region of Ethiopia, where water is scarce and a determinant resource, no regional-level validation of on ...

Use of leaf thickness sensors in horticultural crops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Changes in leaf thickness can be a rapid indicator of the plant’s water status and can therefore serve as an alarm signal for potential water deficits. Combining the use of continuous leaf thickness measurements with a mechanistic plant model describing ...

Universal Solvent Escape Strategies for Efficient Curing of Hydrogen‐Bond‐Rich 3D Printing Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a new 3D printing method for hydrogen‐bonded polymers by combining solvent replacement, nanoparticles, and optimized printing paths. This allows fast, precise scaffold fabrication. The scaffolds can be easily customized and release therapeutic agents slowly through protonation, enabling personalized bone, blood vessel, and nerve ...

Effect of stem age on the response of stem diameter variations to plant water status in tomato [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Plant water status plays a major role in glasshouse cultivation of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.). New climate control technologies alter the glasshouse climate and make it less dependent on solar radiation.

Biomimetic Adaptive Hydrothermal Balance Fabric‐Based Dual‐Interface Solar Evaporator for Efficient and Stable Desalination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines the biological structure of octopuses with the “3D structure” of spacer fabrics to fabricate a dual‐interface solar evaporator with adaptive hydrothermal balance. Water adaptation is achieved through the differentiated design of the upper and lower layers, and dynamic hydrothermal balance is realized by dynamically regulating the ...

Optimizing irrigation scheduling for maize based on soil moisture threshold and water consumption intensity

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
[Objective] Maize is a water-intensive crop, and its production in northwestern China heavily depends on irrigation. Optimising irrigation scheduling is hence essential to improving water use efficiency and conserving water resources. This paper proposes

A CLE11b‐CLE16 Signaling Relay Mediates Root‐Shoot‐Root Crosstalk for Drought Adaptation in Common Bean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel root‐shoot‐root signaling relay, mediated by CLE peptides, coordinates drought adaptation in common bean. Root‐derived PvCLE11b translocates acropetally to leaves, inducing PvCLE16 expression via PvTCP10. Leaf‐accumulated PvCLE16 triggers stomatal closure and translocates basipetally to modulate root architecture.
