Abstract Developmental hip dysplasia due to insufficient acetabular coverage and excessive pressure on the femoral head can easily lead to labral tears, damage to the labrum–cartilage junction, cam and pincer deformities, and joint capsule laxity. This may ultimately result in osteoarthritis.
