Implant‐related orofacial pain managed with implant apicoectomy: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background In recent years, the use of implants has emerged as a widely accepted method for the replacement of missing teeth. Although rare, chronic pain associated with implant placement has been reported in the literature. Conversely, apicoectomy, the removal of the apical portion has been integrated into the implantology field in cases with

Ten‐year follow‐up of bilateral gingival recession treatment: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This work aims to present a 10‐year follow‐up of a young patient who underwent treatment with collagen matrix (CM) combined with enamel matrix derivative (EMD) for bilateral gingival recessions in the maxillary canine region. Methods The patient, a 25‐year‐old woman, presented with bilateral Cairo type 1 recessions.

Subperiosteal tunnel assisted graft (STAG) technique: Report of two cases

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This case report describes the clinical application of the subperiosteal tunnel‐assisted graft (STAG) technique, a novel approach for peri‐implant phenotype modification and keratinized tissue augmentation. Although free gingival grafts remain the gold standard for increasing keratinized tissue width, their effectiveness may be ...

Digital workflow to assess healing after acellular dermal matrix exposure in root coverage: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This case report describes 18‐month clinical and digital outcomes after bilateral treatment of multiple gingival recessions using coronally advanced flap plus acellular dermal matrix (ADM). Methods A 46‐year‐old woman with multiple maxillary recessions received bilateral surgery.

Yet a Smarter Irrigation System

2020
A new type of irrigation system is being developed in the context of the research project 02/SAICT/2017-28247-FCT-TO-CHAIR. The output are irrigation plans based on optimal control theory that minimize water usage and keep crops safe. In this paper, we present the main features of the system prototype. The system uses soil moisture sensors in the field,

A fuzzy irrigation control system

2020 IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference (GHTC), 2020
Given the need to reduce water consumption in irrigation to face the challenge of guaranteeing the supply of this resource to the population in the coming decades, this work presents a fuzzy inference system based irrigation control system to determine water irrigation volume for a sweet pepper (capsicum annuum) crop.

The Irrigating Knife: An Ultrasharp Surgical Blade With Irrigating System

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1990
ABSTRACT We present an irrigating microsurgical knife for ocular surgery. Irrigation of balanced salt solution through the knife tip during sectioning removes hemorrhages continuously, allowing uninterrupted sectioning, without cauterization of bleeding vessels. The "zero degree" knife can be bent in any required position.

Improvement of the irrigation system for orchids

International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies '21, 2021
In the present work, software tools have been adapted to improve the operation of a drip irrigation system for orchids, which can be used to meet the specific watering requirements of these plants. The orchids used are divided into two groups - those with a single watering and to which an irrigation system is used.

Irrigation Systems

1994
Abstract In any type of agricultural production the fate of nitrogen is inescapably linked with that of water. In irrigated agriculture the fate of water is controlled in turn by the method of irrigation employed. Inherent differences in the way water is applied for each method of irrigation influence solute movement and replenishment of
