Spatially Multiplexed Micro-Spectrophotometry in Bright Field Mode for Thin Film Characterization

open access: yesSensors, 2016
Thickness characterization of thin films is of primary importance in a variety of nanotechnology applications, either in the semiconductor industry, quality control in nanofabrication processes or engineering of nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS ...

Oogenesis and germinal bed morphology of the brown anole (A. sagrei)

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The brown anole is a model species of the genus Anolis, a squamate (encompassing lizards and snakes) group widely studied in evolutionary, behavioral, and developmental biology. Full genome annotation, the establishment of gene editing techniques, and comprehensive description of reproductive tract morphology and embryogenesis in ...

Proteomic profiling of Elp1‐deficient trigeminal ganglia reveals disruption of neurotrophic and metabolic pathways in a familial dysautonomia mouse model

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Elp1, a subunit of the Elongator complex, is essential for tRNA modification and neuronal development. Mutations in ELP1 underlie familial dysautonomia (FD), a disorder marked by sensory and autonomic neuropathy. While loss of Elp1 disrupts trigeminal ganglion formation and survival, the downstream molecular consequences remain ...

Application of Electro-Fenton Technology to Remediation of Polluted Effluents by Self-Sustaining Process

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
The applicability of electro-Fenton technology to remediation of wastewater contaminated by several organic pollutants such as dyes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been evaluated using iron-enriched zeolite as heterogeneous catalyst. The electro-

Alquimia: Isaac Newton revisitado Alchemy: Isaac Newton Revisited

Steric Effects in Isopropyl‐Substituted (β‐Diketiminato)Iron Complexes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
An isopropyl‐substituted β‐diketiminate ligand is shown to integrate aspects of its methyl and tert‐butyl counterparts in the preparation of iron complexes. As in the methyl system, it is synthesized in a single step but, like the tert‐butyl analog, it provides sufficient steric shielding to support otherwise unstable compounds.

Community as Medicine: A Qualitative Exploration of Meaningful Social Support and Health for Trans‐ and Gender‐Diverse People in England

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The poor mental and physical health of trans‐ and gender‐diverse (TGD) young people is well established and commonly attributed to gender minority stress. Although recent research has shown that social support can mitigate these effects, less attention has been paid to the psychological processes through which this occurs.

The effectiveness of adding on or switching antiseizure medications after the first fails to control focal epilepsy: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Focal epilepsy constitutes 60–70% of epilepsy, and up to half of patients do not achieve seizure freedom with their first antiseizure medication (ASM). When the first ASM fails, evidence guiding whether to switch or add‐on another ASM and which ASMs to use is limited. This review synthesized evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on
