ISAR imaging of rolling, pitching and yawing targets

Proceedings of International Radar Conference, 2002
This paper deals with the problem of ISAR imaging of targets in rectilinear motion in the presence of pitch, roll and yaw. We define a model of the received signal in the presence of the angular motions and we calculate the impulse response of the imaging system. From this preliminary analysis we find that the ISAR system behaves as a spatially variant

Fine micro-Doppler analysis in ISAR imaging

2007 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2007
In ISAR imaging, it's well known that rotating parts of a target such as wheels or rotors induce additional features in the Doppler frequency spectrum. These features are called micro-Doppler effect and appear as sidebands around the central Doppler frequency.

An ISAR Imaging Method Based on MIMO Technique

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2010
With the inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging model, targets should move smoothly during the coherent processing interval (CPI). Since the CPI is quite long, fluctuations of a target's velocity and gesture will deteriorate image quality.

ISAR superresolution imaging based on APES method

Proceedings of the Eighth International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2005., 2006
Modern spectral estimation techniques have been applied to ISAR imaging in order to enhance the resolution for many years. The application of APES (Amplitude and Phase EStimation) filtering approach in ISAR imaging is presented. APES is an adaptive filtering approach which is referred to as the amplitude and phase estimation of a sinusoid, for complex ...

ISAR Imaging with LFM waveforms

2007 1st Asian and Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar, 2007
This thesis demonstrates a technique involving Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) waveform and Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) processing to develop two-dimensional radar images of a missile target. The processing is combination of two high-resolution processes: development of a high-range resolution (HRR) profile in down range using LFM ...

Sample fitting in ISAR imaging

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002
This paper investigates the effect of sample fitting on ISAR image quality. Usually motion compensation consists of two stages. The first stage is aimed at removing the gross radial motion (i.e. range cell alignment). The second stage attempts to remove the residual phase variations not corrected in the first stage because of noise and other jamming ...

Basic Principles of ISAR Imaging

2014
Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) is different from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) because the former has a larger antenna aperture based on target motion while the radar remains stationary and generates a high-resolution image of moving targets.
