ISAR imaging of a small wind turbine
2014 USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting (Joint with AP-S Symposium), 2014In this work, we carry out the inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of a wind turbine. ISAR is an established technique for examining the radar signatures of targets in relation to its geometrical features. ISAR imagery can often provide revealing information about the scattering phenomenology and any motion anomalies associated with the ...

In-Situ ISAR Imaging of Wind Turbines
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2016Measurement and processing methodologies are developed to capture the in-situ inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) image of an operating wind turbine. In-situ measurement data of a small three-blade wind turbine are collected using an ultrawideband radar, and the measured signatures are compared with simulation results based on physical optics.

Recent Progress of ISAR Imaging Algorithms
2021Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) has the characteristics of all-day, all-weather and long-range imaging. It realizes the imaging and recognition of noncooperative targets and has a wide range of applications in military and civilian fields. In this paper, the range Doppler (RD) algorithm, range-instantaneous Doppler (RID) algorithm, compressive ...

ISAR imaging enhancement: exploiting deep convolutional neural network for signal reconstruction
, 2020Since the radar imaging can serve as an ill-posed inverse problem, it is an appealing topic to introduce deep learning instead of regularized iterative algorithm to address the presence of uncertainties in the inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR ...

ISAR imaging of a precession cone target
IET International Radar Conference 2015, 2015A new method to estimate the precession angle and synthetic aperture angle in ISAR imaging for precession cone target is proposed. The ISAR image is easier to obtain based on precession angle and synthetic aperture angle. In the proposed method, the precession angle is calculated by utilizing HRRP sequence based on the different flight attitudes ...

Precision tracking algorithms for ISAR imaging
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1996The simultaneous imaging and tracking of a moving target is one of the most difficult problems in inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) signal processing. The problem is addressed here using a two-antenna imaging radar. The target range shift is sensed with an exponentially averaged envelope correlation algorithm while the angle change is measured ...

A High-Resolution 220-GHz Ultra-Wideband Fully Integrated ISAR Imaging System
IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques, 2019In this paper, an ultra-wideband fully integrated imaging radar at sub-terahertz (sub-THz) frequencies is presented, which demonstrates a fine lateral resolution without using any focal lens/mirror.

Filtering methods for ISAR image processing
Proceedings of the Second International Symposium of Trans Black Sea Region on Applied Electromagnetism (Cat. No.00TH8519), 2002Summary form only given. This paper deals with filtering methods and algorithms for processing of images obtained from microwave hologram registered by inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR). The following image reconstruction filters and filtering procedure are developed: one dimensional median filter; two dimensional cross form median filter; filter

Motion estimation and compensation in SAR/ISAR imaging
[Proceedings] ICASSP-92: 1992 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1992The authors present a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) coherent system model and inversion (ISAR) to image a target moving with an unknown constant velocity in a stationary background. It is shown that SAR imaging of a moving target can be converted into imaging the target in a stationary squint-mode SAR problem where the parameters of the squint-mode ...

Airborne ISAR Imaging to Air Target
IET International Radar Conference 2015, 2015Conventional ground-based ISAR is restrained by the noncooperative motion of targets and has long coherent processing interval (CPI), so its imaging performance is unstable. In this work airborne ISAR imaging technique will be discussed, which can shorten the distance from radar to air target, decrease the CPI, and improve imaging applicability ...
