Integrative Multi‐Omics and Routine Blood Analysis Using Deep Learning: Cost‐Effective Early Prediction of Chronic Disease Risks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Omicsformer, a deep learning model, integrates multi‐omics and routine blood data to accurately predict risks for nine chronic diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular conditions. Validated using large scale clinical data, it reveals early risk trajectories, advancing personalized medicine and offering a cost‐effective, community‐based solution ...

Clinical outcomes of single incision laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer: A propensity score‐matched analysis between well‐experienced and novice surgeons

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 102-109, January 2023., 2023
SILS is a technically challenging procedure for novice surgeons. We evaluate the clinical outcomes of SILS for colorectal cancer performed by novice surgeons. SILS was safely performed by novice surgeons under the guidance of well‐experienced surgeons, and could provide satisfactory oncological outcomes. Abstract Background Single incision laparoscopic

(Apo)Lipoprotein Profiling with Multi‐Omics Analysis Identified Medium‐HDL‐Targeting PSRC1 with Therapeutic Potential for Coronary Artery Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid content in medium high‐density lipoprotein (HDL) particles, particularly cholesteryl esters, is identified as causally protective of atherosclerosis, and further ASCVD. Evidence from multi‐omics layers of data consistently supports PSRC1 with therapeutic potential for coronary artery disease (CAD), but not ischemic stroke.

Treatment strategies for unruptured pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysms associated with celiac artery occlusion

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 182-189, January 2023., 2023
Since celiac artery occlusion represents a common attributable aetiology for these aneurysms, restoration of blood flow to the regions supplied by the celiac artery should also be taken into account when designing a treatment plan. Here, we present 4 cases of PDA aneurysms coexisting with coeliac artery occlusion, all of which were managed with bypass ...

KLF1 Promotes Cardiomyocyte Proliferation and Heart Regeneration Through Regulation of Wnt/β‐Catenin Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In KLF1‐on (neonatal and Klf1 overexpression hearts) models, KLF1 regulates Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway and the expression of cell proliferation‐related genes via transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms, which induces cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac regeneration in mice after myocardial infarction.

Prediction of need for bowel resection in acute superior mesenteric artery occlusion: A retrospective study of 48 Japanese patients

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 175-181, January 2023., 2023
In a study of 48 patients with acute superior mesenteric artery occlusion, a logistic regression model using time from onset to diagnosis and the occlusion site of superior mesenteric artery showed 78.6% sensitivity in ruling out cases requiring bowel resection.
