Application Value of Myocardial Segmental Thickness Variability Measured by Echocardiography in Distinguishing Ischemic and Nonischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Echocardiographic measurement of myocardial segmental thickness variability (STV) effectively differentiates between ischemic and nonischemic dilated cardiomyopathy. STV, combined with regional wall motion abnormalities (RWMA), provides high diagnostic accuracy, offering a noninvasive alternative to coronary angiography for guiding treatment strategies.

Operative and nonoperative management of acute cholecystitis in patients on chronic kidney replacement therapy

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Patients with kidney failure receiving chronic kidney replacement therapy (KRT: dialysis or kidney transplantation) have increased risks of postoperative mortality and morbidity. This study assesses the outcomes of acute cholecystitis in patients on chronic KRT who undergo cholecystectomy compared to nonoperative management ...

Improved and Automated Detection of Papillary Muscle Infarction Using Joint Bright‐ and Black‐Blood Late Gadolinium Enhancement MRI

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Papillary muscle infarction (PMI) has been linked to significantly increased mortality and is associated with ventricular arrhythmias and mitral regurgitation. Reference bright‐blood late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) imaging provides poor scar‐to‐blood contrast, making PMI visualization challenging. Black‐blood LGE imaging overcomes

The Development and Challenges of PET/MRI Dual‐Modality Imaging Probes—An Update

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The integration of Positron emission tomography (PET) with Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combines the functional imaging capabilities of PET with the high‐resolution anatomical detail of MRI, creating a synergistic platform for advanced diagnostic imaging and image‐guided therapies. Central to the success of this dual‐modality system is the
