Excessive Daytime Sleepiness Should Be Systematically Assessed in Individuals With Insomnia: A Population‐Based Study Employing a Virtual Agent‐Based Digital Tool

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 35, Issue 2, April 2026.
In a cohort of 21,590 participants undergoing a 17‐day digital sleep intervention, the ‘sleepy insomniac’ phenotype was highly prevalent and was associated with comorbidities in about half of the cases. Compared to individuals with insomnia without sleepiness, these participants were more likely to experience middle or late insomnia symptoms but showed

Non-supersymmetric infrared perturbations to the warped deformed conifold

open access: yes, 2010
We analyze properties of non-supersymmetric isometry-preserving perturbations to the infrared region of the warped deformed conifold, i.e. the Klebanov Strassler solution.

Stable Carbon and Oxygen Isotope Analysis of Carbonates and DIC Using the Delta Ray Isotope Ratio Infrared Spectrometer (IRIS): Precise and Accurate Measurements Applying a 3‐Point Calibration and Standard Bracketing

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 6, 30 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale The Delta Ray Isotope Ratio Infrared Spectrometer enables to determine δ13C and δ18O values of CO2. The measurements are calibrated against internal reference gas standards. For discrete carbonate or dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) samples, the manufacturer recommends a calibration against two isotopically different carbonate ...

ISDS at a Crossroads [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ASIL Annual Meeting, 2018
Let us understand what we are talking about. The standard investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) system: Claimant appoints an arbitrator, Respondent appoints an arbitrator, and through various means there is an agreement or appointment of someone to chair the proceedings.

Changing Aerodynamic Roughness in WRF Reduces Bias and Improves Accuracy in Near‐Surface Wind Simulations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract Accurate simulation of near‐surface wind speed is crucial for applications in renewable energy, dust emission, and air quality modeling. However, the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model systematically over‐estimates 10 m wind speed due to simplified representations of surface roughness and momentum exchange.

Investigating the Role of Climate Change in the 3 May 2025 Western Europe Hailstorm Using Atmospheric Analogs

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 27, Issue 3, March 2026.
We analyzed the 3 May 2025 Paris hailstorm to assess climate change's influence using ERA5 data and analogue‐based attribution. Comparing present and past atmospheric patterns, we found that today's warmer climate shows stronger instability and energy, favoring large hail formation.

All-electrical injection and detection of a spin polarized current using 1D conductors

open access: yes, 2012
All-electrical control of spin transport in nanostructures has been the central interest and chal- lenge of spin physics and spintronics. Here we demonstrate on-chip spin polarizing/filtering actions by driving the gate-defined one dimensional (1D ...

A Rotor Voltage Compensation Method for Transient Voltage Dip in Grid‐Connected Power Systems With A High Proportion of Renewable Energy Under Ramp‐Type Gradual Disturbance

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
This paper proposes a doubly fed induction generator rotor voltage compensation control to address transient voltage dips in renewable‐rich grids. By compensating for rotor electromotive forces, it suppresses current fluctuations and surges during asymmetrical faults.

Female sex is linked to a stronger association between sTREM2 and CSF p-tau in Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesEMBO Molecular Medicine
In Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Aβ triggers p-tau secretion, which drives tau aggregation. Therefore, it is critical to characterize modulators of Aβ-related p-tau increases which may alter AD trajectories.
