Thermal Degradation of PFAS in Different Scales: Measurement of Hydrogen Fluoride (HF)

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
The communication article is about the challenges to balance a combustor in the case of fluorine when incinerating PFAS containing materials. Several analytical methods are compared: for continuous measurement, FTIR with TDLS. The detected fluorine species are further compared with results upon IC and pyrohydrolysis for discontinuous measurements in ...

Going from Pt to PGM‐free Catalysts: Effects of Ink Compositions on PEM Water Electrolysis

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Optimisation of cathode ink formulations regarding the ratio between catalyst, carbon and binder results in a boost in PEM water electrolysis performance. The optimisation can be transferred from pentlandites to platinum and selenide catalysts, wherein the metal chalcogenides show a stronger performance enhancement.

Supplier Environmental Assessment in Sustainability Reporting: Evidence From Top ESG‐Performing Brazilian Firms

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the maturity of supplier‐related environmental disclosures in sustainability reports of top environmental, social, and governance (ESG)‐performing Brazilian companies. A content analysis of 67 reports from firms listed on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) was conducted using the CRITIC method to weight disclosure ...

Inference in Ising models

open access: yesBernoulli, 2018
The Ising spin glass is a one-parameter exponential family model for binary data with quadratic sufficient statistic. In this paper, we show that given a single realization from this model, the maximum pseudolikelihood estimate (MPLE) of the natural parameter is $\sqrt {a_N}$-consistent at a point whenever the log-partition function has order $a_N$ in ...

Sacrificing Energy for Mass Transfer to Boost Solar Steam Generation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Vapor accumulation often limits the performance of passive interfacial solar evaporation. Inspired by the Dyson sphere concept, Xu, Yang, and co‐workers designed a perforated‐shell evaporator with an internal non‐evaporating core that diverts incident sunlight to drive self‐generated internal convection for vapor removal.

Harnessing Thin‐Film Solid‐State Electrolytes: Enabling Breakthroughs in All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration highlighting the advantages of transitioning from traditional thick solid‐state electrolytes (SSEs) to thin‐film SSEs. Thinning the electrolyte enables higher ionic conductivity, reduced interfacial polarization, improved flexibility, compact electrode contact, and enhanced energy density, offering a promising pathway toward high‐
