Synergy‐based crop suitability assessment for agrivoltaics: An easy‐to‐use traffic‐light framework for temperate climates

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 1839-1852, September 2026.
Climate change and the growing demand for renewable energy are putting increasing pressure on land, as food production and solar power generation often compete for the same areas. In this study, we assessed which temperate‐region crops are best suited for agrivoltaics, a technology combining farming and solar electricity production on the same land. We

Subnanometer Copper Clusters of Five Atoms on Titania Boosting CO2 Conversion to Methane

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Supported five‐atom copper clusters (Cu5/TiO2) demonstrate exceptional catalytic performance for CO2 methanation, achieving 100% methane selectivity at 300 °C. Operando X‐ray absorption near‐edge structure (XANES) and DFT calculations reveal a preferred methoxy‐mediated pathway and reversible redox behavior.

The Haematological and Biochemical Responses of Goat Bucks to Range Grazing and Indoor Concentrate‐Based Feeding Systems

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Range grazing remains the principal feed resource for goats in smallholder production systems, particularly in regions where range grazing and intensive concentrate‐based systems coexist. However, expanding cropland has reduced the availability of grazing lands and shifted production toward concentrate‐based feeding systems ...

Nitrate occurrence, alternative management practices, and modeled transport in the vadose zone over Nebraska's High Plains Aquifer

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, Volume 25, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
Abstract Groundwater contamination by nitrate (NO3‐N) is a growing environmental and public health concern for the High Plains Aquifer underlying Nebraska, which is driven largely by intensive agricultural fertilizer applications. However, uncertainty remains in the variability of nitrate concentrations across deep vadose zones and the potential for ...
