Increased Amyloidogenic Neuronal Injury in HIV‐1–infected APP‐KI Alzheimer's disease mice

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION A higher incidence of dementia, including Alzheimer's‐like pathology, is observed in aged people living with human immunodeficiency virus‐1 (HIV‐1). However, mechanisms linking HIV‐1 to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology remain unclear, due to the lack of animal models that allow for concurrent studies of HIV‐1 and AD.

Patterns of Autonomous and Conditional Neural Specification for the Brain and Ventral Nerve Cord in Annelida. [PDF]

open access: yesEvol Dev
Diagrams of blastomere isolations in Capitella teleta and Platynereis dumerilii showing autonomous head neural tissue (from 1q) and trunk neural tissue (from 2d) as well as a decoupling of D–V axis formation from trunk neural tissue in annelids. ABSTRACT Evolution of central nervous systems is a long‐debated topic.

Serum Levels of Thyroid Hormones in Relation to Breast Cancer Prognosis: A Multicentre Cohort Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
High free T3 levels at diagnosis are associated with good survival following breast cancer. ABSTRACT Thyroid function has been suggested to be associated with breast cancer risk, but not much is known about thyroid hormones as a potential prognostic factor for breast cancer. This study investigated the relation between thyroid hormones in breast cancer

First Report on the Phytochemical and Pharmacological Properties of Hedysarum yilmazunalii

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Hedysarum yilmazunalii was collected from Erzincan, Türkiye. The leaf, stem, and root parts were then used for methanolic extraction. The extracts were analyzed for their phytochemical composition by LC–MS/MS and tested for antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory, and antiproliferative activities.
