p16 Overexpression and Human Papillomavirus Positivity in More Than 1000 Penile Cancers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Penile cancer is a severe disease, and a large proportion is related to high‐risk (hr) human papillomavirus (HPV). P16 is used as an immunohistochemical marker of HPV in clinical diagnostics. Population‐based data on the prevalence of p16 in penile cancer is scarce.

Bijections for the Shi and Ish arrangements

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2014
The {\sf Shi hyperplane arrangement} Shi(n) was introduced by Shi to study the Kazhdan-Lusztig cellular structure of the affine symmetric group. The {\sf Ish hyperplane arrangement} Ish(n) was introduced by Armstrong in the study of diagonal harmonics. Armstrong and Rhoades discovered a deep combinatorial similarity between the Shi and Ish arrangements.

Towards a morphosyntactic analysis of -ish

open access: yes, 2017
This article deals with the morphosyntactic and semantic properties of the adjectives derived with the English morpheme -ish. The main goal of the paper is to outline a morphosyntactic analysis of -ish that: (i) accounts for its cross-categorial nature,

Analysis of individualized brain–gut association networks and transcriptional patterns in major depressive disorder

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Individualized brain–gut association networks suggest potential neuropathological mechanisms in MDD and MDDSI. Multilevel brain–gut association changes involving HSV‐1 and inflammation may be relevant to MDD, whereas alterations related to insulin metabolism may play a potential role in the neuropathological mechanisms of MDDSI.

Controlling Growth of Ultrasmall Sub‐10 nm Silver Nanoparticles From Cotinus coggygria Scop. Extract and Evaluation of Its In Vitro Anti‐Breast Cancer, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activity

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study highlights the potential use of Cotinus coggygria Scop. plant extract in a single‐step synthesis of biocompatible and ultrasmall AgNPs for in vitro applications. Herein, microscopic analyses revealed that AgNP exposure did not induce appreciable morphological changes in CRL‐4010 cells, whereas MCF‐7 and MDA‐MB‐231 cells exhibited ...

Quantifying the Equine Pain Response to Paracetamol Administration in Horses With Chronic Lameness Already Receiving Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatories. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
In geriatric horses with chronic lameness receiving NSAIDs, adjunct oral paracetamol (20 mg/kg BID) showed no significant improvement in lameness severity. Weekly subjective scoring and objective gait analysis revealed no differences versus baseline or post‐treatment, indicating limited additional analgesic benefit in this population.

Clinical and Cytogenomic Characterization of Three Patients With Distal 1q43q44 Deletion: Twin Sisters With a de novo Deletion and a Patient With der(1)t(1;21)(q43;q22.3)mat

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Distal 1q43q44 deletions lead to a consistent neurodevelopmental phenotype characterized by microcephaly, corpus callosum abnormalities, and developmental delay. Despite differences in genomic architecture, overlapping deletions affecting dosage‐sensitive genes such as AKT3, HNRNPU, and ZBTB18 define the core phenotype.

Spatial transcriptomics reveals club cell features and strong CLDN18 expression along the mucinous pathway to invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA) of the lung is a distinct subtype of lung adenocarcinoma with unique clinicopathologic features; however, its histogenesis remains incompletely understood. Although mucinous metaplasia has been suspected as a precursor lesion, direct molecular evidence supporting this progression is limited. In this study,

A type $B$ analog of Ish arrangement

open access: yes, 2023
The Shi arrangement due to Shi (1986) and the Ish arrangement due to Armstrong (2013) are deformations of the type $A$ Coxeter arrangement that share many common properties.

Differential FGFR1 copy number status displays unique tumour immune microenvironment in triple‐negative breast cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) amplification, a significant cancer alteration with both prognostic and therapeutic relevance, lacks a standardized definition. The relationship between FGFR1 copy number (CN) variations and tumour microenvironment (TME) characteristics also remains poorly understood.
