Between Shi and Ish

open access: yes, 2018
We introduce a new family of hyperplane arrangements in dimension n≥3 that includes both the Shi arrangement and the Ish arrangement. We prove that all the members of a given subfamily have the same number of regions – the connected components of the ...

Combining tunable proteolytic sequences and a VEGF-mimetic peptide for the spatiotemporal control of angiogenesis within Elastin-Like Recombinamer scaffolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Producción CientíficaOne of the main challenges in regenerative medicine is the spatiotemporal control of angiogenesis, which is key for the successful repair of many tissues, and determines the proper integration of the implant through the generation of

Predictive Registry Optimization of Molecular Adsorbates on Solid Surfaces

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Local C–H “spikes” from a π‐conjugated backbone lock into graphene “pockets”. A geometric registry score turns images obtained by scanning tunneling microscopy at the solid/liquid interface into atomic‐scale adsorption models, enabling assignment of surface atropisomers in large π‐conjugated molecules.

Combined hydro-wind generation bids in a pool-based electricity market [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Present regulatory trends are promoting the irect participation of wind energy in electricity markets. The final result of these markets sets the production scheduling for the operation time, including a power commitment from the wind generators. However,

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

A type B analog of the Ish arrangement

open access: yesAlgebraic Combinatorics
The Shi arrangement due to Shi (1986) and the Ish arrangement due to Armstrong (2013) are deformations of the type A Coxeter arrangement that share many common properties.

A Toolkit for Targeted Neuromodulation of Striatal Direct Pathway Neurons Rescues Parkinsonian Motor Deficits in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An adeno‐associated virus (AAV) toolkit enables selective anatomical and functional targeting of striatal D1‐MSNs through retrograde transduction. Enhanced capsids and engineered enhancers drive robust transgene expression across murine and primate models.

Isosteric Substitution Enables Rational Design of Two‐Dimensional Energetic Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Isosteric substitution transforms a classical nitro–amine motif into two‐dimensional aminofurazans with performance beyond TATB. ABSTRACT Two‐dimensional (2D) energetic crystals dissipate mechanical insult via interlayer slip, yet their molecular design space remains narrow.

SPADE: A Deep Learning Framework for Spatial Mapping and Quantitative Cell–Cell Interaction Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SPADE integrates spatial transcriptomics with single‐cell RNA sequencing by using cell–cell communications (CCC) as a guide for spatial mapping. It improves cell‐type localization, enhances sparse gene‐expression signals, and reveals CCC programs at single‐spot resolution.
