External benchmarking of lung ultrasound models for pneumothorax‐related signs: A manifest‐based multi‐source study

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2026.
We built a manifest‐based reproducible benchmark of 280 lung ultrasound clips from 190 public videos. Binary lung‐sliding models misclassify lung pulse as normal and treat lung point as ambiguous, demonstrating that present‐versus‐absent classification is an incomplete proxy for pneumothorax reasoning. Abstract Background and aims Reproducible external

Efficient Gene Expression System in Medaka Embryos Enables Functional Characterization of nt5c1a Paralogs Involved in Inosine Monophosphate Metabolism

open access: yesgenesis, Volume 64, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Optimizing transient expression systems in fish embryos is crucial for rapid gene function analysis. Here, we established an efficient system in medaka (Oryzias latipes) embryos by evaluating nucleic acid type and injection site. Our results revealed that injecting the elongation factor 1αA (ef1αA) promoter‐driven plasmid into the yolk yielded

The Roadmap of the Spleen: A Meta‐Analysis of Morphometric and Vascular Anatomy

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims This systematic review aims to consolidate anatomical data on the spleen and its vasculature to aid in surgical planning and improve the understanding of splenic variability. The main research goal is to summarize reported ranges and pooled estimates for splenic dimensions and to map the common patterns and variations in ...
