In this chapter, the focus moves to the Islamization of government in Turkey and Pakistan with the analysis of the Islamic basis of family law. Turkey’s family law was initially based on Islamic tradition but, in 1926, the Swiss Civil Code was adopted as the Turkish Civil Code. Since then, Islamic influence has been negligible.
