The prevalence of smoking in Nepal remains substantially higher among men than women and is strongly associated with province, caste/ethnicity, education, occupation, age, and alcohol consumption. These findings highlight the need for equity‐oriented and socioculturally responsive Tabacco control strategies in Nepal.

In a school‐based study of 384 adolescent girls in semi‐urban Bangladesh, cultural beliefs regarding breast cancer were moderate overall. Higher class of study and peer information sources were linked to stronger beliefs, whereas family history was linked to fewer misconceptions, underscoring the need for school‐based education.
