Electrical power systems have been experiencing significant changes in the latest years. The increasing insertion of energy through renewable sources tends to change the energy matrix, introducing new concepts such as active grids and microgrids.The use of renewable sources is widespread in those grids that can operate connected or islanded.

Droop control for islanded microgrids

This paper contains an explanation of droop control to distribute load changes amongst inverter-sourced generators in an islanded microgrid. As the load within the microgrid changes, the inverter-sourced generators will share this change in load but this paper shows that the change will be arbitrary and droop achieves a regulated change.
