Exchanging history-based parametric CAD models using ISO 10303

This paper describes the current status of the international standard ISO 10303 (STEP) in respect of its capabilities for the capture and exchange of history-based parametric CAD models. The primary resources needed are all now available, and the necessary implementable part of the standard will shortly be in place for use by translator developers.
