Cross-reactive Human HL-A Isoantibodies
Nature, 1968TECHNICAL difficulties have for a long time prevented any improvement in our knowledge of human leucocyte groups. The results of the Third Workshop on Histocompatibility Testing, held at Torino in 1967, showed that these difficulties are being overcome1.

Blood Grouping of Chimpanzees by Isoantibody
The Japanese Journal of Veterinary Science, 1978Seventeen blood samples of chimpanzee were examined for the presence of homologous antibody. All of them contained anti-B but not anti-A antibody. They also possessed A-like antigen on the red cell membrane. After complete absorption of the antibody by human B and AB red cells, the existence of homologous antibody was demonstrated in chimpanzee serum ...

Platelet Aggregometry and Anti-Platelet Isoantibodies
Pathophysiology of Haemostasis and Thrombosis, 1975102 sera from polytransfused patients have been screened in platelet aggregometry. Anti-human platelet isoantibodies, tested against ‘responsive’ human platelets in PRP, give in the aggregometer a decrease in optical density recorded as a sigmoidal curve.

Synergistic Action of HL-A Isoantibodies
Nature, 1969HUMAN HL-A transplantation antigens are controlled by a large number of closely linked genes1. So far only dominant HL-A genes have been described, but some of the sera containing complement fixing (C′F) platelet isoantibodies used for HL-A typing in this laboratory occasionally react as if they were active against antigens controlled by recessive ...

Isoantibodies to Human Pancreas: A Preliminary Report
Diabetes, 1965One hundred and forty-two diabetics, 163 blood bank donors, ten patients with carcinoma of the pancreas, ten patients with chronic pancreatitis, six patients with acute pancreatitis, and a number of patients with miscellaneous diagnoses were tested for evidence of isoantibodies to the pancreas using the tanned cell hemagglutination technic as described

A Naturally Occurring Monospecific Anti‐HL‐A8 Isoantibody
Tissue Antigens, 1973Aided in part by a grant from the Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund for Medical Research. A case is reported of a 34‐year‐old female with chronic thyroiditis, multiple upper respiratory ailments, and a monospecific anti‐HL–A8 lymphocytotoxic isoantibody occurring in her serum in the absence of prior pregnancy or transfusion.

Isoantibodies to Human IgM: Serologic and Immunochemical Investigations
The Journal of Immunology, 1971Abstract A total of 378 serum samples was tested for anti-IgM activity using 15 different Waldenström's macroglobulins. For detection of the antibodies, a passive hemagglutination assay with CrCl3 as coupling agent was employed. Anti-IgM antibodies were found in 16 sera.

THE EFFECT OF ISOANTIBODIES ON RED‐CELL SURVIVAL
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1970SummaryThis paper reviews the progress in relating in vitro characteristics of isoanti‐bodies, such as Ig class, ability to bind complement, and serum concentration, to the rate of destruction of incompatible red cells that they bring about in vivo.In man, those IgG antibodies that do not bind complement, e.g.

Observations on Abnormal Isoantibodies Following Transfusions
The Journal of Immunology, 1936Abstract There can be no doubt that all human beings may be classified as belonging to one of the four blood groups of Landsteiner. However, recent investigations have shown that sub-groups exist within these four main blood groups, especially within the group A.
