Isochrons and phaseless sets

Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1975
Winfree has developed mathematical models for his phase resetting experiments on biological clocks. These models lead him to ask a number of mathematical questions concerning dynamical systems. This paper deals with these mathematical questions. In Winfree's terminology we show the existence of isochrons and establish some of their properties.

ISOCHRONOUS SECTIONS VIA NORMALIZERS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2005
We present some sufficient conditions for the existence of isochronous sections of planar differential systems. We consider isochronous sections at a critical point, a cycle, the boundary of a central or attraction region.

Isochronous fractionals PDEs

2020
Summary: In this paper we study a number of nonlinear fractional equations, involving Caputo derivative in space or/and in time, admitting explicit solution in separating variable form. Some of these equations are particularly interesting because they admit completely periodic solutions. When time-fractional derivatives are introduced, this property is

Isochronous cyclotrons

Physics Today, 1964
A new sector-focusing cyclotron, which will accelerate protons over the energy range of 5 to 75 MeV, is being built at the US Naval Research Laboratory. It is expected to produce a circulating beam adjustable from zero to about one milliampere, and an extracted beam several tenths of this amount.
