A consideration of errors and accuracy in the isoconversional methods

Thermochimica Acta, 2001
Abstract The conventional isoconversional plots, ln  β versus 1/ T and ln( β / T 2 ) versus 1/ T , have some errors in calculating the activation energy due to the use of an approximate value of p ( x ). In order to obtain the ‘exact’ value of activation energy of a reaction, an iterative procedure has been established after the ratios, H ( x ...

Isoconversional methods

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2004
In this paper, fundamentals of the isoconversional methods are summarized and the methods are analyzed from the point of view of their correctness, their applications and the physical meaning of the activation parameters obtained. It is concluded that the activation parameters represent apparent quantities without a mechanistic interpretation.

Processing of TGA data: Analysis of isoconversional and model fitting methods

Fuel, 2016
Abstract Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is routinely used to characterize coal. Apart from proximate analysis, TGA data is also used to characterize kinetics of devolatilization and char combustion. Various methods have been proposed to process the TGA data [isoconversional or model free methods such as Friedman method, Kissinger method, Flynn–Wall–
