Advanced isoconversional method

Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1997
A nonlinear algorithm has been suggested to increase the accuracy of evaluating the activation energy by the integral isoconversional method. A minor modification of the algorithm has made it possible to adapt the isoconversional method for an arbitrary variation of the temperature.

Thermal analysis of some natural polysaccharide materials by isoconversional method

Food Chemistry, 2013
Isoconversional thermal analysis of some important polysaccharides from functional foods is reported. Various thermal parameters including apparent activation energy (Ea), pre-exponential factor (A) were worked out, and the fitness of data to different models describing the degradation kinetics of polysaccharides was studied.

Kinetics of ambuphylline decomposition studied by the incremental isoconversional method

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2015
Ambuphylline is a drug obtained by the combination of theophylline and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol. Thermal decomposition of ambuphylline was studied using thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry. Under thermal decomposition, ambuphylline exhibits two degradation steps that are clearly separated.

Combustion Analysis of Camurlu Crude Oil by Isoconversional Method

2020
The Camurlu field in Southeast part of Turkey contains 380 MMbbl of heavy oil with 10–12° API. Due to very low oil recovery, different enhanced oil recovery techniques have been evaluated for this field. In-situ combustion has been eventually considered to increase oil production in this field.

An incremental isoconversional method for kinetic analysis based on the orthogonal distance regression

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2014
The parameters obtained from a kinetic analysis of thermoanalytical data often exhibit a conversion-dependent behavior. A novel incremental isoconversional method able to deal with this phenomenon is proposed. The kinetic model is directly fitted to the experimental data using nonlinear orthogonal least squares procedure. The data are processed without

Detecting isokinetic relationships in non-isothermal systems by the isoconversional method

Thermochimica Acta, 1995
The problem of detecting true isokinetic relationships (IKR) relates primarily to the problem of reliable evaluation of Arrhenius parameters. Two approaches (discriminating and non-discriminating) for evaluating Arrhenius parameters have been examined using modelled data to detect IKRs.

Application of a model‐free isoconversional method to the cure of phenolic systems

Journal of Polymer Science Part B: Polymer Physics, 2001
AbstractThe curing process of a phenolic resole was monitored with differential scanning calorimetry under nonisothermal and isothermal conditions, the curing kinetics were analyzed with a model‐fitting approach and a model‐free isoconversional method, and the activation energy of this phenolic system was found to be close to 46 ± 4 kJ mol−1.

Kinetic analysis of wheat straw pyrolysis using isoconversional methods

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2009
The pyrolysis of wheat straw has been carried out by means of thermogravimetric analysis in inert atmosphere. The samples were heated over a range of temperatures that includes the entire range of pyrolysis with three different heating rates of 5, 10 and 20 K min−1.

Detecting Operational Inactivation of Horseradish Peroxidase using an Isoconversional Method

Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2010
AbstractKinetic parameters of operational inactivation of horseradish peroxidase during the enzymatic oxidation of 2‐aminophenol with hydrogen peroxide were estimated using an isoconversional method. This method only requires the progress kinetic curves obtained at constant initial concentrations of the substrates.

Cure kinetics of lignin–novolac resins studied by isoconversional methods

Thermochimica Acta, 2009
Abstract The curing process of commercial phenolic, lignin–phenolic and modified lignin–phenolic–novolac resins with hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA) 9 wt% was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal mechanical analysis (TMA).
