Ageing and isokinetic plantar flexion
European Journal of Applied Physiology and Occupational Physiology, 1987Isokinetic torques (Cybex II) of the plantar flexors in 25 healthy men were compared at 5 angular velocities (30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 degrees X s-1). The purposes were to compare plantar flexion torques in young and old subjects, and to determine whether the expected decrease was significantly associated with age, physical activity, or aerobic fitness.

Evaluation of Isokinetic Muscle Performance
Clinics in Sports Medicine, 1983The development and availability of isokinetic testing equipment, recording systems, and systems for computer analysis have improved the quality and quantity of information about specific skeletal muscle performance. The value of both isokinetic exercise and instrumentation designed to objectively record muscle performance characteristics is becoming ...

Clinical applicability of isokinetics: A review
Clinical Biomechanics, 1991The purpose of this paper is to review the recent advances made in the field of clinical isokinetics. Presentation of various methodological issues is followed by description and discussion of the role of isokinetic dynamometry in the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic disorders, mainly of the knee and trunk regions. Attention is also drawn to the

Conditions of isokinetic knee flexion that enhance isokinetic knee extension.
Medicine and science in sports and exercise, 1990The results of two experiments are reported. The purpose of the initial investigation was to determine the effect of isokinetic knee flexion contraction intensity on subsequent knee extension contraction. Seven subjects performed ten isokinetic knee flexion-extension cycles at six isokinetic velocities under two antagonist contraction conditions.
