Isokinetic Lifting Strength and Occupational Injury
Spine, 1992One hundred seventy-one nurses had their back strength evaluated on an isokinetic lifting device and filled out an epidemiologic questionnaire. They were then followed prospectively for 2 years to determine the incidence of job-related low-back injuries.

Isometric and isokinetic measurement of hamstring and quadriceps strength
Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, 1992This study evaluates quadriceps strength at varying movement velocities in a group of healthy subjects. Specific objectives included (1) investigating the effect of angular velocity on peak torque (PT) (2) investigating the effect of angular velocity on joint angle at peak torque (JAPT) and (3) evaluating whether the use of a relatively new isokinetic ...

Reliability of an Isokinetic Test of Muscle Strength and Endurance
Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy, 1989Funding for this study was provided by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command, Project No. 85PP5866, under the Joint Working Group on Drug Dependent Degradation in Military Performance Program. Isokinetic strength aspects in human joints and muscles
Applied Ergonomics, 1991The isokinetic concept of exercise has become an increasingly popular means to assess musculoskeletal function. The isokinetic apparatus enables the control of angular velocity of the moving limb (which is held constant during the range of movement) whilst giving an accomodated resistance.

Influence of repeated measurements on isokinetic lifting strength
Clinical Biomechanics, 1992The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of repeated measurements on isokinetic lifting strength in a smaple of patients with low back pain. The measures were performed in series of five consecutive lifts on two occasions 1-13 days apart, and the patients continued their normal living during this period. A group of healthy subjects was used as a

Isokinetic exercise programs were compared as to the number of times per week subjects performed the exercise. Isokinetic exercise of the right knee extensors was performed on 23 female subjects between the ages of 18 and 24 who had no history or evidence of knee pathology.

Isokinetic measurements of muscle strength in hysterical paresis
Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1985The torque during isokinetic knee extensions and flexions was determined in repeated tests at 3 speeds of angular rotation in 25 patients with pareses considered to be hysterical after relevant examinations and follow-up. The torque records were combined with surface EMG from the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in some patients.

ISOKINETIC STRENGTH AFTER TEARS OF THE SUPRASPINATUS TENDON
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1997We measured the isokinetic strength of abduction, adduction, internal rotation, and external rotation in ten patients with full-thickness tears of the supraspinatus and ten with partial-thickness tears. The measurements were repeated after intra-articular or intrabursal injection of local anaesthetic.

Test-retest reliability of isometric and isokinetic wrist strength
Journal of Orthopaedic Science, 2023The isokinetic dynamometer has been considered the gold-standard measurement of muscle performance. However, the reliability for the isometric and isokinetic wrist flexor and extensor strength using the Biodex isokinetic dynamometer has not been reported to date.

Isokinetic Strength of Collegiate Baseball Pitchers During a Season
The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 2006Pitching is suggested to expose the arm to physical stress that may lead to a decrease in strength. The purpose of this study was to examine the isokinetic internal and external rotational shoulder strength of Division II pitchers preseason, midseason, and postseason. The 9 pitchers were 23 +/- 0.67 years of age and weighed 91.2 +/- 3.14 kg.
