Simplified Isolated Forward Converter

This thesis pertains to a forward converter consisting only of primary-side control circuits for regulating the output voltage. Control circuits in a conventional forward converter for regulating the output voltage control the on and off times of primary-side switching transistor by comparing the output voltage directly with the reference voltage.

Isolated voltage-boosting converter

In this paper, a single switch isolated voltage-boosting converter is presented, which is derived from the traditional flyback converter and charge pump concept. The proposed converter possesses an output inductor, so the output current is non-pulsating.

A W-Band Polarization Converter and Isolator

A 95-GHz printed low-loss linear-to-circular polarizer is designed as a component of an active direct-detection millimeter-wave imaging system. The periodic printed grid structure presents different reactances to the TE and TM polarizations, resulting in equal amplitude and phase quadrature upon transmission through four parallel grids.

A new Isolated Hybrid Boosting Converter

A new Isolated Hybrid Boosting Converter (IHBC) is proposed in this paper. It employs fly-back structure at primary side of transformer and a Bipolar Voltage Multiplier (BVM) structure at secondary side to increase the voltage gain. The circuit alternates between forward and fly-back modes, which avoids the use of magnetic reset winding.
