Spasmolytic Effects of Aqueous Extract of Sterculia setigera Delile on Isolated Rat Trachea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The spasmolytic properties of aqueous extract of Sterculia setigera was tested on Rat isolated trachea. Inhibition of the contraction was observed in presence of the aqueous extract (EC50 = 0.91mg/mL ± 0.02) after a pre contraction of the trachea by ...

A METHOD FOR THE QUANTITATIVE ESTIMATION OF DRUGS ON THE ISOLATED INTACT TRACHEA [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology and Chemotherapy, 1962
A method is described for the detection and comparison of substances active on tracheal smooth muscle. Several pharmacological agents affecting smooth muscle have been tested using the technique. Sensitivity was high, results reproducible and linear log dose‐response relationships obtained over a wide dosage range.

Wegener's granulomatosis: isolated involvement of the trachea and larynx. [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 1987
A 26 year old man with subacute hoarseness and stridor was shown to have Wegener's granulomatosis isolated to the trachea and larynx. Although isolated laryngeal Wegener's is unusual, a review of the literature suggests that early treatment with cyclophosphamide is warranted.

Development of a pressurised transmural decellularisation method for application in tissue engineering trachea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Tracheal abnormalities, congenital or acquired, represent a currently unmet clinical need. Tissue engineering has recently advanced and has been used to engineer hollow organs, including tracheae, for clinical use on a compassionate basis.

Lactiplantibacillus Plantarum GUANKE Alleviates Allergic Asthma by Restricting Monocyte‐to‐DC Differentiation Via Microbiota‐Associated IAA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GUANKE remodels the indigenous gut microbiota and is associated with microbiota‐dependent restoration of circulating IAA. IAA treatment attenuates JAK3‐STAT3 and Jag1‐Notch4‐Hey1 signaling and reduces CX3CR1+Ly6C− monocytic precursor generation and pulmonary CD11b+ DC accumulation, together with reduced Th2 inflammation ...

Spasmolytic Effects of Aqueous Extract of Mixture from Aframomumum Melegueta (K Schum) – Citrus Aurantifolia (Christm and Panzer) on Isolated Trachea from Rat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The spasmolytic properties of the aqueous extract of Aframomum melegueta (K Schum) and Citrus aurantifolia (Christm and Panzer) (AMCA) mixture were tested on isolated rat trachea. Inhibition of the contraction was observed the in presence of the AMCA (EC

Loss of E3 Ubiquitin Ligase RINES via CpG Methylation Relieves Suppression of STAT3 and MYC, Facilitating Multiple Tumorigeneses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulated protein modifications drive tumorigenesis. RINES, an E3 ubiquitin ligase, represses tumor cell proliferation and metastasis by facilitating RING domain‐dependent, ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation of STAT3 and MYC, which consequently restrains cancer stemness and oncogenic progression.

Sustainable Fabrication of Tailored Bone Substitutes: From High‐Throughput Scaffold Manufacturing, Scaled‐Up HMSC Expansion to Dynamic Cultivation in a Perfusion Bioreactor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The demand for off‐the‐shelf biocompatible bone substitutes has driven the development of numerous independent in vitro technologies to generate products resembling physiological tissues. Due to technical challenges and overly simplified cultivation approaches/niches, the end‐products are often uniformly shaped and inferior to native bone ...

Membrane‐Active Peptide Protects Against Inflammation by Targeting NLRP3 Activation at the Trans‐Golgi Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...
