Isolation Forest Based Submodule Open-Circuit Fault Localization Method for Modular Multilevel Converters

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2023
Fault localization is one of the most important issues for modular multilevel converters (MMCs) consisting of numerous switches. This article proposes an isolation forest (IF) based submodule (SM) switch open-circuit fault localization method for MMCs ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Seed rain and soil seed banks limit native regeneration within urban forest restoration plantings in Hamilton City, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Restoration of native forest vegetation in urban environments may be limited due to isolation from native seed sources and to the prevalence of exotic plant species.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Effects of forest fragmentation on the vertical stratification of neotropical bats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Vertical stratification is a key component of the biological complexity of rainforests. Understanding community- and species-level responses to disturbance across forest strata is paramount for evidence-based conservation and management.

Fusarium species isolated from forest soil samples

open access: yesMalaysian Journal of Microbiology, 2011
A total of 46 isolates of Fusarium were isolated from six forest soil samples in Muka Head, Teluk Bahang, Pulau Pinang. Two Fusarium species were identified from the soil samples namely, F. solani (93.5%) and F. oxysporum (6.5%). The present study showed that the diversity and occurrences of Fusarium species in forest soil was low compared to ...

Real-Time Malicious Traffic Detection With Online Isolation Forest Over SD-WAN

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2023
Software Defined Network (SDN) has been widely used in modern network architecture. The SD-WAN is considered as a technology that has a potential to revolutionize the WAN service usage by utilizing the SDN philosophy. Attacks within SD-WAN can affect the

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...
