Isometric Autoencoders

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
High dimensional data is often assumed to be concentrated on or near a low-dimensional manifold. Autoencoders (AE) is a popular technique to learn representations of such data by pushing it through a neural network with a low dimension bottleneck while minimizing a reconstruction error.

Sustained Isometric Wrist Flexion and Extension Maximal Voluntary Contractions Similarly Impair Hand-Tracking Accuracy in Young Adults Using a Wrist Robot

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living, 2020
Due to their stabilizing role, the wrist extensor muscles demonstrate an earlier onset of performance fatigability and may impair movement accuracy more than the wrist flexors. However, minimal fatigue research has been conducted at the wrist.

Genericity of Fr\'echet smooth spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
If a separable Banach space contains an isometric copy of every separable reflexive Fr\'echet smooth Banach space, then it contains an isometric copy of every separable Banach space.

Isometric Posterior Chain Peak Force Recovery Response Following Match-Play in Elite Youth Soccer Players: Associations with Relative Posterior Chain Strength

open access: yesSports, 2019
The purpose of this study was to determine changes in two tests of lower limb isometric posterior chain force (IPC-F) following 90 min of match-play in elite youth soccer players and the interaction between relative strength and recovery profile.

Inverting a Cylinder Through Isometric Immersions and Isometric Embeddings [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1977
It is shown that a right circular cylinder can be turned inside out through immersions which preserve its flat Riemannian metric if and only if its diameter is greater than its height. Such a cylinder can be turned inside out through embeddings which preserve its flat Riemannian metric provided its diameter is greater than (7 + 2)/7 times its height. A

Isometric Uncertainty Relations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2020
We generalize the link between fluctuation theorems and thermodynamic uncertainty relations by deriving a bound on the variance of fluxes that satisfy an isometric fluctuation theorem. The resulting bound, which depends on the system's dimension $d$, naturally interpolates between two known bounds.

ISOMETRIC AND ISOMETRIC- m OPERATORS [PDF]

open access: yesAKSIOMA: Jurnal Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, 2017
This paper presents the definition, samples, and natures of isometric and isometric- m algebra operator for some  in  Hilbert space. In additions, the relationship of both operators will also be examined. To investigate natures of isometric and isometric- m operators, adjoint operators concepts and natures are required.

Equidimensional Isometric Extensions

open access: yes, 2015
Let $\Sigma$ be a hypersurface in an $n$-dimensional Riemannian manifold $M$, $n\geqslant 2$. We study the isometric extension problem for isometric immersions $f:\Sigma\to\mathbb R^n$, where $\mathbb R^n$ is equipped with the Euclidean standard metric ...
