Evaluation of force-time curve analysis methods in the isometric mid-thigh pull test

Sports Biomechanics, 2020
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the manual and automatic analysis methods for force-time curve analysis of the isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP) test. The visual analysis, first derivative analysis and threshold analysis methods were used to analyse onset time and time-specific forces at 50 ms, 90 ms, 200 ms and 250 ms on the force-time curve ...

Concurrent validity and reliability of a functional electromechanical dynamometer to assess isometric mid-thigh pull performance

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part P: Journal of Sports Engineering and Technology, 2021
The aim of this study was to examine the concurrent validity and reliability of a functional electromechanical dynamometer (FEMD) to assess the isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP) kinetic variables: peak force (PF), rate of force development (RFD), and time-specific force values (50-, 100-, 150-, and 200-ms). Twenty-seven male collegiate athletes (age: 22.

Reliability of the Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull Test in Young Basketball Players

2022
The aim of this experimental study is to investigate the reliability of muscular strength measures obtained during the isometric mid-thigh pull test in young basketball players. Fifteen participants took the isometric mid-thigh pull test in two sessions, one week apart. Each measurement was performed on a portable force plate.

Scaling isometric mid-thigh pull maximum strength in division I Athletes: are we meeting the assumptions?

Sports Biomechanics, 2018
This study examined the validity of various scaling methods, isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP) peak force using various scaling methods, and the relationships between IMTP peak force and countermovement jump height.  Fifty-one collegiate baseball and soccer athletes performed two maximal IMTPs.

PEAK FORCE AND RATE OF FORCE DEVELOPMENT DURING ISOMETRIC AND DYNAMIC MID-THIGH CLEAN PULLS PERFORMED AT VARIOUS INTENSITIES

Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 2006
Eight male collegiate weightlifters (age: 21.2 +/- 0.9 years; height: 177.6 +/- 2.3 cm; and body mass: 85.1 +/- 3.3 kg) participated in this study to compare isometric to dynamic force-time dependent variables. Subjects performed the isometric and dynamic mid-thigh clean pulls at 30-120% of their one repetition maximum (1RM) power clean (118.4 +/- 5.5 ...
