Adsorption, isosteric heat and commensurate-incommensurate transition of methane on graphite

Molecular Physics, 1993
We report a molecular simulation study of methane adsorption and phase transitions on a graphite substrate. Grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations have been carried out to study the adsorption isotherm and heat of adsorption at 77·5 K, using a uniform 10–4–3 substrate potential. Good agreement with experiment is found. Several layering transitions are

Isotherms and isosteric heats of CO2 adsorption on type E zeolites

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1978
1. Isotherms have been developed and used to calculate isosteric heats of CO2 adsorption on NaE, CaNaE, and CaE zeolites. 2. The heat of CO2 adsorption increases rapidly as the Ca2+ content of the type E zeolite rises. There is a direct relation between the number of Ca2+ cations in the zeolite lattice and the number of CO2 molecules ...

Isosteric Heats of Adsorption on Carbon Predicted by Density Functional Theory

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1998
Isosteric heats of adsorption (qst) of propane and butane adsorbed on carbon were studied by numerical differentiation of nonlocal density functional theory (NDFT) isotherms. The qst values of both adsorbates in slit-shaped pores were a weak function of temperature, and decreased with increasing pore width.

Improvement of Accuracy for Determination of Isosteric Heat of Hydrogen Adsorption

Korean Journal of Materials Research, 2017
Isosteric heat of hydrogen adsorption is one of the most important parameters required to describe solid-state hydrogen storage systems. Typically, it is calculated from adsorption isotherms measured at 77K (liquid N2) and 87K (liquid Ar). This simple calculation, however, results in a high degree of uncertainty due to the small temperature range ...
