Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Order-disorder transition and alignment dynamics of a block copolymer under high magnetic fields by in situ x-ray scattering

open access: yes, 2013
We present results of temperature resolved scattering studies of a liquid crystalline block copolymer undergoing an order-disorder transition (ODT) in the presence of magnetic fields and time-resolved measurements during isothermal field annealing at sub-

Repeated crystallization in undercooled Zr41Ti14Cu12Ni10Be23 liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Isothermal crystallization studies are performed on Zr41Ti14Cu12Ni10Be23 melts. Undercooling experiments are carried out repeatedly at 907, 860, and 750 K. The scattering of the time to reach the onset of crystallization is investigated.

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY OF BORATE-BARIUM GLASS C78-5 IN THE EDUCATION AND GROWTH OF NANOCRYSTALS [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2013
The temperature dependence and kinetics of changes in the electrical conductivity at a constant temperature annealing of borate-barium glass C78-5 is investigated experimentally. The values of the activation energy of electrical conductivity in different

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Predicting thermal stability of fibre Bragg gratings – isothermal annealing within isochronal annealing

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2007
Comparison is made of the results of isothermal annealing (ITA) and isochronal annealing (ICA) on Bragg gratings written in unloaded germanosilicate fibres with the aim of accurately predicting the reliability of such gratings. A novel aspect of the reported work is the gathering of ITA data within the ICA routine.

The effect of some heat treatments on the properties of medium carbon steel

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2005
The present study is aimed to compare between the effect of the modified isothermal annealing with conventional full annealing and normalizing on the properties of medium carbon steel by full annealing and normalizing tensile test and otherdisclike shape

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Effect of stress-relief annealing on isothermal fatigue life of a new hot stamping die steel 4Cr2Mo2V

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2022
For 4Cr2Mo2V hot stamping die steel, the isothermal fatigue test was suspended at different cycles, and the stress-relief annealing was carried out in situ . After annealing, the fatigue tests were continued.
