Thermal budget consideration in rapid isothermal processing

Applied Physics Letters, 1994
Rapid isothermal processing (RIP) based on incoherent radiation as the source of thermal and optical energy is emerging as a key low-thermal budget processing technique. Because of high heating and cooling rates, the RIP cycle generally refers to processing time and temperature. In this letter, we have shown that the properties of materials and devices

Binary Brayton cycle with two isothermal processes

Energy Conversion and Management, 2013
Abstract The literature introduced isothermal concept and binary Brayton cycle as two promising methods used to enhance the performance of the gas turbine. Consequently, this work presents a cycle based on the blending of the two methods. This cycle is composed of gas turbine topping cycle with isothermal combustion and air turbine bottoming cycle ...

Isothermal melt processing of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy round wire

Physica C: Superconductivity, 1995
Abstract Isothermal melt processing (IMP) has been used to process oxide-powder-in-tube (OPIT) Bi2Sr2CaCu2Oy (Bi-2212) round wire with high critical current densities. Isothermal melt processing is a process in which the melting and solidification steps are carried out at the same temperature by melting in an inert atmosphere and solidifying in a ...

Design of non-isothermal process water networks

2007
Abstract Despite the fact that many methods have been developed for the optimization of process water networks, solving the problem simultaneously considering heat recovery has rarely been addressed. This paper presents a new approach for the simultaneous synthesis and optimization of heat integrated water networks.

Some photoeffect roles in rapid isothermal processing

Applied Physics Letters, 1991
When compared to furnace processing, for identical and lower substrate temperatures, more photons are available in the visible and ultraviolet regions for rapid isothermal processing (RIP) based on incoherent radiation as the energy source. In this letter, we provide experimental evidence for photoeffects in RIP for a wide variety of materials.

Non-isothermal viscoelastic polymer film casting process

Physics of Fluids
Although polymer films are widely used in chemical applications, their flow and tensile hardening behaviors are still not well understood due to the complex non-isothermal process rheology. In this paper, we investigate the effects of die structures, process conditions, and physical parameters on non-isothermal viscoelastic polymer film processing ...

On the isothermal method in transport processes

Philosophical Magazine B, 1979
Abstract The isothermal method is used to derive an expression for the static conductivity of electrons in an external field, under ergodic conditions, following Kubo's paper. After appropriate approximations, a formula is obtained which reduces to the usual Boltzmann expression in the weak-coupling limit and which is used to analyse the three ...
