Optimal driving of isothermal processes close to equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2014
We investigate how to minimize the work dissipated during nonequilibrium processes. To this end, we employ methods from linear response theory to describe slowly varying processes, i.e., processes operating within the linear regime around quasistatic driving.

Microstructure and texture evolution of 2A12 aluminum alloy semi-solid billet prepared by SIMA process

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
In order to make up for the lack of research on the preparation process of semi-solid billet of 2A12 aluminum alloy, this paper adopts strain-induced melting activation (SIMA) process to prepare semi-solid billet of 2A12 aluminum alloy, and studies the ...

Investigation of non-isothermal and isothermal gasification process of coal char using different kinetic model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2015
Isothermal and non-isothermal gasification kinetics of coal char were investigated by using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) in CO2 atmosphere, and the experimental data were interpreted with the aids of random pore model (RPM), unreacted shrinking core ...

Simulation of Potato Softening during Non-isothermal and Isothermal Processes.

open access: yesNIPPON SHOKUHIN KOGYO GAKKAISHI, 1992

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Unlocking the Power of Quercetin‐Encapsulated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles: A Multifunctional Approach to Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.
