Isothermal shear transformation in YBa2Cu3O7−δ
Physica C: Superconductivity, 1988Abstract An isothermal annealing experiment was carried out at 400°C to study the mechanisms of tetragonal-to-orthorhombic phase transformation and oxygen diffusion in Yba 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ . Results of magnetization vs. applied magnetic field experiments show that the tetragonal-to-orthorhombic phase transformation proceeds isothermally.

Thermodynamic analysis of isothermal transformation diagrams
Metal Science, 1982AbstractA thermodynamic method has been developed to allow the prediction of isothermal transformation diagrams, starting simply from a knowledge of the chemical composition of the steel concerned. The method has been extensively tested and has been shown to be capable of faithfully reproducing the critical ‘bay region’ of time–temperature ...

Isothermal Mode of the Martensitic Transformation
JOM, 1952The isothermal formation of martensite in a 71 pet Fe# 29 pet Ni alloy is found to take place mainly by the nucleation of new plates rather than by the growth of existing ones# and is dependent on the temperature and time of the isothermal hold, the amount of athermal martensite present, the state of internal strain, and the application of tensile ...

Non-isothermal crystallization of the Ni68.5Cr14.5P17 alloy is characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray techniques. Transformation occurs in two stages at peak temperatures 622±1 and 692±1 K (at 20 K min−1), with ΔH1=1.50+0.1 kJ mol−1 and ΔH2=3.0±0.1 kJ mol−1.

Isothermal martensitic transformation in ternary NiTiNb alloy
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2017Abstract The results of experimental study of the isothermal B2-B19 martensitic transformation in a ternary Ni-Ti-Nb alloy are presented. Despite complicated heterophase microstructure of the alloy, previously reported qualitative regularities of the isothermal transformation in Ni-Ti system of alloys hold in the ternary Ni-Ti-Nb system: 1) the ...

Isothermal transformation behavior of thermally-grown wüstite
Materials at High Temperatures, 2000The transformation behavior of wustite (FeO) below the FeO→ Fe+Fe3O4 eutectoid temperature of about 570°C was studied using laser Raman spectroscopy in conjunction with optical microscopy, backscattered electron microscopy, and electron probe microanalysis.

Non-isothermal surface nucleated transformation kinetics
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1992A mathematical description of the transformation kinetics for surface initiated, non-isothermal, crystallization processes is presented. Previously derived equations for isothermal transformations are modified and used to compute the volume fraction crystallized as a function of time.

Isothermal and Continuous Cooling Transformation Diagrams
2015Isothermal and continuous cooling transformation (CT) diagrams help users map out diffusion-controlled phase transformations of austenite to various mixtures of ferrite and cementite. This chapter discusses the application as well as limitations of these engineering tools in the context of heat treating eutectoid, hypoeutectoid, and proeutectoid steels.
