Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

On the isothermal kinetics analysis of transformations in metastable systems: combined use of isothermal and non-isothermal calorimetry [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine, 2007
A procedure to optimize the isothermal calorimetric data of very slow transformation processes of metastable systems is proposed. The method uses an experimental baseline to identify the transitory effects due to the equipment. Moreover, the combined use of isothermal and non-isothermal results is shown to be effective to overcome the ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Aplicación de modelos para la generación de la isoterma de adsorción de metano en una muestra de shale y su impacto en el cálculo de reservas

open access: yesRevista Fuentes El Reventón Energético, 2015
Several adsorption isotherm models were analyzed for the purpose of fi tting the experimental data published by Gasparik et al. (2012) obtained in a methane adsorption experiment on a shale sample from the Posidonea formation in the netherlands.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Genetic Algorithm Based Nonlinear Optimization of Adsorption Processes

open access: yesJournal of the Turkish Chemical Society Section B: Chemical Engineering, 2021
In this study, for different adsorption processes, nonlinear isotherm, kinetic model and thermodynamic parameters were calculated using genetic algorithm-based optimization method. Nonlinear equations were directly used as the model parameters can change

Adsorption isotherm on ferrites

open access: yesCommunications, Faculty Of Science, University of Ankara Series B Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 1994
Tlıe corrosion behaviour of the prepared Materials was studied by mcans of weight-loss techniquc in stagnant solution of (0.01 M) sulphuric acid in presence of thiourea as an inhibitor. Higher concentration of thiourea reduces the corrosion rate of thc samples and proteetion effi- cicncy of thiourea was found to be 80 % for ferrites Proteetion is ...

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.

Zeolite Waste Characterization and Use as Low-Cost, Ecofriendly, and Sustainable Material for Malachite Green and Methylene Blue Dyes Removal: Box–Behnken Design, Kinetics, and Thermodynamics

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This study investigated the potential of 4A zeolite, named4AZW in this work, generated by natural gas dehydration units as solid waste after several treatment cycles, as a low-cost adsorbent to separately remove two cationic dyes, methylene blue (MB) and
