Isotope spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 2014
AbstractThe measurement of isotopic ratios provides a privileged insight both into nucleosynthesis and into the mechanisms operating in stellar envelopes, such as gravitational settling. In this article, we give a few examples of how isotopic ratios can be determined from high‐resolution, high‐quality stellar spectra.

The Isotopes of Antimony [PDF]

open access: bronzeNature, 1922
OWING to the kindness of Prof. G. T. Morgan, who prepared a specimen of pure antimony trimethyl for this purpose, I have now been able to obtain the mass-spectrum of antimony. The element is characterised by two lines of nearly equal strength at 121, 123. The first is the more intense by perhaps 10 to 20 per cent.

The vanadium isotopic constitution of petroleum asphaltenes: La Luna Formation (Venezuela) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2000
High resolution mass spectrometry indicates that the isotopic abundance of 50Vanadium (V) of the Late Cretaceous La Luna petroleum asphaltenes and related source kerogen of marine origin (both highly enriched with V > 2000 ppm) is higher by ...

Inferring individual marine migration from otolith ecogeochemical signatures of a wide-ranging fish

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2022
Despite technical advances in archival tag attachment and functional longevity, long-term tracking of individuals of some fish species remains prohibitively difficult.

Inhibition of cardiac PERK signaling promotes peripartum cardiac dysfunction

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a life-threatening heart failure occurring in the peripartum period. Although mal-angiogenesis, induced by the 16-kDa N-terminal prolactin fragment (16 K PRL), is involved in the pathogenesis, the effect of full-length

Experimental evidence for extra proton exchange in ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase catalysis

open access: yesCommunicative & Integrative Biology, 2022
Despite considerable advances in the past 50 y, the mechanism of ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) catalysis is still not well understood.

The Isotopes of Americium [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review, 1950
Three new americium activities (Am{sup 238}?, Am{sup 243}, and Am{sup 244?}, the latter two formed by n,{gamma} reactions) are described and some additional information is given on previously reported americium isotopes.
