Comprehensive Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatography Combustion Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry
Analytical Chemistry, 2008We report the first coupling of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC x GC) to online combustion isotope ratio mass spectrometry (C-IRMS). A GC x GC system, equipped with a longitudinally modulated cryogenic system (LMCS), was interfaced to an optimized low dead volume combustion interface to preserve

Isotope ratio mass spectrometry – history and terminology in brief
Drug Testing and Analysis, 2012The history of isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) is briefly described. It is shown that the fundamental design of isotope ratio mass spectrometers has not changed since the 1940s. The basic findings concerning the natural variation of isotope abundances even date back to the 1930s.

The Influence of Diet on Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry Values
Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, 2009Athletes have increasingly used testosterone (T) and other endogenous anabolic steroids that cannot be detected by conventional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. This led to gas chromatography-combustion-isotope ratio mass spectrometry(GC/C/IRMS), which measures the relative amount of 13C in urinary steroids.

Biological Mass Spectrometry, 1994
An isotope ratio mass spectrometer and an ion trap mass spectrometer were coupled in parallel to one gas chromatograph. This system provides the means to obtain information about both chemical nature and isotopic composition of a given compound under identical gas chromatographic conditions.
