Pressure and isotope effect on the anisotropy of MgB$_{2}$

open access: yes, 2005
We analyze the data for the pressure and boron isotope effect on the temperature dependence of the magnetization near $T_{c}$. Invoking the universal scaling relation for the magnetization at fixed magnetic field it is shown that the relative shift of ...

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Stable Isotope Analysis of Pleistocene Proboscideans from Afar (Ethiopia) and the Dietary and Ecological Contexts of Palaeoloxodon

open access: yesQuaternary
The timing, cause, and magnitude of mammalian extinctions during the African Middle Pleistocene remain largely unresolved. The demise of Elephas/Palaeoloxodon recki, a lineage that had a great geographic and temporal span, represents a particularly ...

The Isotope Effect in Superconductors

open access: yes, 1998
We review some aspects of the isotope effect (IE) in superconductors. Our focus is on the influence of factors not related to the pairing mechanism. After summarizing the main results obtained for conventional superconductors, we review the effect of ...

Enhanced Nitric Oxide Electroreduction to Ammonia via Modulating Spin‐Polarization of Fe Single‐Atom Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A strategic spin‐polarization suppression in Fe single‐atom catalysts is proposed to enhance electrocatalytic reduction of NO to NH3. Employing a top‐down electrospinning strategy, self‐supported FeSAC with Fe‐N3S1 coordination structure and spin‐state transition is engineered from high‐spin to low‐spin.

Silver Ion‐Mediated [hk1]‐Oriented Sb2Se3 Crystal Growth for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ag+‐mediated hydrothermal crystal engineering promotes preferential [hk1]‐oriented growth of Sb2Se3 via an ultrathin MoOx interlayer, improving crystallinity and suppressing non‐radiative recombination. The optimized Ag+ treatment photocathode delivers 24.7 mA cm−2 at 0 VRHE and improved stability, revealing an ion‐modulated route to high‐performance ...

Thermocline Dynamics and Nitrogen Cycling Drive Productivity Shifts in the South China Sea Across Glacial Cycles

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
The South China Sea (SCS) nitrogen cycle responds dynamically to glacial–interglacial climate changes, yet the drivers of nitrogen isotope variability remain debated.

Presolar diamonds in Krymka: C, N and Xe isotope data from grain-size separates and comparison with other meteorites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Comparison of carbon isotope variations in grain size fractions of presolar diamonds separated from three meteorites (Efremovka, Boriskino and Krymka) suggest that diamond from various parts of solar nebular have had diffrent C isotope ...
