Hydrogen isotope analysis of coal is an important tool in the geochemical analysis of coal. The traditional method of hydrogen isotope analysis of coal requires the oxidation of organic matter bound hydrogen in coal to water by an oxidizing agent and ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Neuronal pentraxin 2 (NPTX2) is a synaptic protein involved in synaptic plasticity and regulation of neuronal excitability. Lower baseline cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) NPTX2 levels have been shown to be associated with an earlier onset of mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a pre‐dementia syndrome, even after CSF Alzheimer's Disease (AD)

Stable isotope analysis (δ13C and δ15N) of soil nematodes from four feeding groups [PDF]
Soil nematode feeding groups are a long-established trophic categorisation largely based on morphology and are used in ecological indices to monitor and analyse the biological state of soils.

Nitrogen isotope analysis of ammonium and glycine [PDF]
Stable isotope techniques can be used as a tool in nitrogen cycling studies of different ecosystems. The studies are based on measurement of the heavy (15N)- to- light (14N) isotopic ratios of nitrogen in different biospheric pools.

Carbon stable isotope analysis of cereal remains as a way to reconstruct water availability: preliminary results [PDF]
Reconstructing past water availability, both as rainfall and irrigation, is important to answer questions about the way society reacts to climate and its changes and the role of irrigation in the development of social complexity.

A simple, cleanroom‐free method produces flexible mini‐coils using automated blade cutting. The process is fast, low‐cost, and supports diverse materials. The coils show strong durability and performance under repeated bending. Demonstrated use in resistor‐inductor filters and magnetic nanoparticle control proves their adaptability.

Determining trophic niche width: a novel approach using stable isotope analysis [PDF]
1. Although conceptually robust, it has proven difficult to find practical measures of niche width that are simple to obtain, yet provide an adequate descriptor of the ecological position of the population examined. 2.

Calibration of isotope amount ratios by analysis of isotope mixtures
The question as to what constitutes a fully calibrated isotope amount ratio measurement still remains a topic of active research. For years, the definitive calibration approach has been by means of synthetic mixtures of highly enriched isotopes with known chemical purity to give gravimetrically defined ratios.
