Culinary diversity in early modern Brazil revealed by residue analysis of ceramic artefactsCulinary diversity in early modern Brazil revealed by residue analysis of ceramic artefacts [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science
Brazil is a multi-cultural and ethnically diverse country shaped by a complex history of colonization, migration, slavery and economic intensification that has transformed it into one of the world's leading food-producing regions.

Radiocarbon dates and stable isotope data for human and animal skeletal remains from a passage grave in Kierzkowo, Poland (Late Neolithic and modern period)

open access: yesData in Brief, 2022
This dataset is comprised of paired radiocarbon (14C) dates, and carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) stable isotope ratios received for skeletal remains of 18 humans and 6 animals.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Isotope Mass Spectrometry and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry in Honey Authentication

open access: yesТехника и технология пищевых производств
Honey is a popular product and one of the most faked foods in the world. Current authentication methods remain rather ineffective. In this study, isotope radio mass spectrometry (IRMS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) made it ...

Absorption and retinol equivalence of β-carotene in humans is influenced by dietary vitamin A intake

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2003
The effect of vitamin A supplements on metabolic behavior of an oral tracer dose of [14C]β-carotene was investigated in a longitudinal test-retest design in two adults.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Research Advance of Chlorine Isotope Analytical Techniques

open access: yesJournal of Isotopes
Chlorine is widely distributed in nature as a major and minor constituent in natural water bodies and salt deposits. The isotopic composition of chlorine serves as a key tracer for understanding the cycling processes of chlorine, and has been extensively ...

An efficient method for the production of isotopically enriched cholesterol for NMR[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2011
13C-Cholesterol was produced with high efficiency by a genetically engineered yeast strain. The method produces ∼1 mg of cholesterol per gram of glucose using 100 ml of culture medium.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Stable Carbon Isotope Ratio (δ13C) Measurement of Graphite Using EA-IRMS System

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2015
δ13C values in non-irradiated natural graphite were measured. The measurements were carried out using an elemental analyzer combined with stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer (EA-IRMS). The samples were prepared with ground and non-ground graphite, the
